How to cancel Hetzner
Free step-by-step cancellation guide
- Log in to Hetzner Console at console.hetzner.com/projects.
- Select the project that contains the resource you want to cancel.
- Open the resource (e.g., under Server) and click Delete, then confirm.
- Delete the other billable resources in the project: snapshots, backups (deactivate the backup option or delete individual backups), floating IPs, firewalls, networks, load balancers and Storage Boxes.
- Disconnect each volume from its server before deleting it: Hetzner will not delete a volume that is still attached.
- Empty each Object Storage bucket before deleting the bucket: a bucket that still holds files cannot be deleted.
- To close a project, open the three-dot menu next to the project name and select Delete (after removing all resources).
- Deletion is permanent, and billing is pro-rated, so you pay only up to the deletion.
Keep track of your renewals before they charge you again.
